What websites offer B2B reviews?

The number of websites that offer B2B reviews is quickly growing. The original large player was G2, which started as G2 Crowd. The next big player is Capterra which is owned by Gartner and includes a number of websites that offer B2B reviews, including Capterra.com, GetApp and Software Advice. While Capterra and G2 are the largest players, you can check out our list at the end of the article for a more complete list of review sites to explore.

How do B2B review websites work?

The basic functionality of the review sites is very similar to Yelp, but using B2B software as what is being reviewed rather than local businesses and restaurants. Each software will have its own listings page assigned to specific product categories which contains information about that piece of software like a description, a list of features, the target audience etc….

Where the product shows up on that category page depends on whether the company is paying for advertising and the rating the product has received.

The reviews are collected by the review site by verified users of the software who receive a small gift card in exhange for their review. In order to generate more positive reviews, the company being reviewed will ask users who have had a good experience with the software to write a review on their behalf.
